JAKARTA: Jakarta Composite Index increased 0.18% at the opening session, Friday (2/22), while rupiah exchange rate slightly increased 7 points or 0.07% to IDR9,716 per US$. The index increased 8.48 points to 4,640.87 and moved within a range of 4,629.48 – 4,642.71 at 9:06 a.m. Jakarta time. Among 463 shares listed on the index, 9 shares advanced, 14 shares fell, and 440 shares were stagnant. Index Leaders: PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk +1.16% to IDR4,350 PT Bumi Resources Tbk +3.26% to IDR950 PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk +1.25% to IDR8,100 PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk +0.58% to IDR4,350 Index Laggers: PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk -0.59% to IDR8,450 PT Semen Indonesia Tbk -1.21% to IDR16,350 PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk -0.51% to IDR9,850 PT United Tractors Tbk -0.53% to IDR18,900 Six out of nine sectors of the index gave positive contribution, led by finance and trade sectors, while three sectors gave negative contribution, led by consumer goods sector. In line with JCI, BISNIS-27 Index increased by 0.16% or 0.65 points to 399.64 after moving in the range of 398.41 - 399.89. (msw)
